I really like Knox gear. Since I’ve been riding, I’ve been lucky enough to test a couple of pairs of the British brands jeans – and their quality, and styling, is second to none. Last summer I got my hands on Knox’s all-new Logan jacket – and it’s been my number one choice ever since.
It’s made from a comfortable soft peach feel fabric with a cotton interior lining, and features a 100% high performance 7K/7K waterproof and breathable membrane with fully taped seams and YKK coil and Aquaguard zips. In practice, the lightweight jacket holds up surprisingly well in the worst of weathers. It’s kept me dry on more than one occasion, in pretty torrential downpours – and providing you layer up, it’s capable of keeping you warm in sub-zero temperatures too.
Like all Knox outer jackets, the Logan comes with Knox’s own unique dual fitting system – which allows you to expand or contract the jacket to accommodate the amount of base layers and thickness of armour you are wearing underneath. It’s a clever system, which gives the jacket real versatility, no matter the weather.
The Logan features an adjustable cuff closure system, enabling easy fitting of gloves. It comes with four large external pockets and one internal pocket, so you’ve got ample storage. Plus, the Logan also features an inner zip attachment, so you can connect the jacket to your Knox trousers.
You’ll note there’s no mention of armour or protection in this jacket review – that’s because Knox works differently to other bike gear brands. Instead of buying one jacket with an abundance of layers and liners, Knox is pioneering its unique layering system, which allows you to choose your armour and base layer separately. Consequently, £249.99 may seem a little pricey for what is essentially a waterproof jacket – but, you’re getting a great looking, versatile, top quality jacket for your money.
