Oooooh, so we thought this bike from Triumph was going to be at EICMA this week. But the SPEED TWIN is so far a no-show on Italian soil from Triumph.
What we do now know – thanks to a very non-showy teaser video put out by the factory – is that the SPEED TWIN will be officially unveiled on December 4th. We’ve put the video below so that you can see the 25 seconds of shadowy motorcycle in flashy lights for yourself.
No doubt there’ll be some razzamatazz from the factory on December 4 at the launch of the dressed-down-Trhuxton but why wait for that to feast your eyeballs on the latest retro motorcycle from the big T? We’ve got the photos of the bike RIGHT HERE. Actually, we’ve had them for a weeks or so now, so you might have passed them by with all the EICMA news going on right now. Never mind, here are the photos again.
This is the 2019 SPEED TWIN. Looks OK to us.
Still, what we know from what we can see in the photos is that the frame is Thruxton based mated to a Bonneville swingarm, the styling is Street Twin-esque (because that’s what Triumph do) apart from the dash which ditches the Street’s single dial for a Thruxton-like snazzy and more grown up double dial look splitting the speedo and tacho ranges.
There’s no conventionally-spoked wheels on the Twin for 2019, cast wheels are fitted to the bike. Has Triumph done enough with this parts-bin special to get you buying a Speed Twin for next year or were you expecting more from the home brand?
