Kawasaki’s 2020 Ninja 250 – official photos revealed ahead of the Tokyo Show

This is the 2020 Ninja 250. Looks pretty cool and could make a good spread of power for next year.

Looking like a cross between the old Ninja 300 and the current ZX-6R, the Kawasaki Ninja 250 will first be officially unveiled at the Indonesian motorcycle show in a couple of days time before getting its big outing at the Tokyo Show on October 23.

The bike is going to be available in two models; the Ninja 250 SE ABS and the Ninja 250 SE ABS MDP. The Ninja 250 SE ABS come in the two colours that we have the photos for; white and what the Kawasaki listing names as ‘blu’ – but it looks like a faded Kawasaki green to us (to be fair, our translation skills might not be so great at this, trust your eyes is what we suggest). However, the Ninja 250 SE BS MDP is only available in black.

his is the blu model. Which might be more green than it looks here. Or not. Might be blu as the translated name suggests. Umm...

We know that both bikes come with keyless tech (Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Start System) which is the same as you find on the GTR1400 range and that all the new 250 models get ABS as standard – suggesting that it will be a European model for next year.

No power stats are yet available but several rumours about the bike have been circulating in Japan for a while. According to the gossip, the 250 will be available in two versions – an A2 friendly version that puts out around 45bhp and a full-power, specced-up version (this is probably going to be the all-black MDP model) which is supposed to make something close to 60bhp on the road.

Not long to go now until Kawasaki properly reveal the bike. If this motorcycle does turn out to make 60bhp and is only the size of a 250 then it’s going to get a lot of attention. What do you think to this, is 60bhp enough to get you onto a smaller bike or is it enough to entice you into buying a new motorcycle next year?
