Scott Redding clocked a best time of 1’49.929 after 60 laps at Aragon – beating his Ducati teammate Chaz Davies by just two tenths of a second.
Jonathan Rea wasn’t there for the day two – but Redding surpassed the World Champions’ best time from the previous day.
Leon Camier was the first WSB rider out in the morning – and held onto first place in the time sheets until the last three hours of the day. But he only managed to get four laps in, after a slip at Turn 9 left Camier feeling significant pain in his left shoulder – and prompted a quick visit to Alcañiz hospital. Thankfully, he was back in his garage a couple of hours later – but he didn’t go out on track again.
But that was four more laps than Jonathan Rea put in on day two. After opting to not go out in the wet on Wednesday – and with more rain forecast for Thursday, he decided to reschedule for Jerez.
Alex Lowes put some time in on the Kawasaki though, managing 50 laps while gradually closing the gap on the leading riders.
On the Yamaha, Michael van der Mark continued his calm approach to pre-season while he awaits his new YZF R1 for 2020. He put in 20 laps. His teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu was focused on getting more laps under his belt – and finished the day as best Yamaha and fourth overall.
Garrett Gerloff on the GRT Yamaha put in some solid times, and finished up sixth on the timesheets – only 0.05s behind van der Mark’s fastest time.
