But it’s not just about bikes, it’s also about great food, family fun and a stonking weekend by the seaside. Sponsored by Carole Nash, Bexhill MotoFest is an event created to appeal to all bikers but particularly those who are new to biking, looking to return and the growing number of female bikers looking for events that have a broader based family appeal. Bexhill MotoFest supports several charities including Joey Dunlop Foundation and Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance.

The festival celebrates Bexhill’s claim to being the birthplace of British motorcycle racing. Way back in 1902 motorcycles and early cars raced up and down the sea front promenade as an attraction for the wealthy and aristocratic who build the town as an English version of Cannes in the South of France. The promenade races ended in 1924 but official motorsport returned in 2013 with a Hastings BikeNites presentation of Motogymkhana on the De La Warr Car Park, this was so successful that the local council saw an opportunity to attract more tourism to the town and HEM Events Ltd set up Bexhill MotoFest for a one day event in July 2014. The event has now grown into a three day festival of motorcycles that embraces live music and cinema.
