Ducati has pulled the wraps off the fifth-generation Monster… and it’s lighter, sharper and more desirable than ever. Thirty-four years on from the original 900 that redefined the naked bike scene, the 2026 Monster is here to remind everyone exactly why it’s still the benchmark for street-going hooliganism.
Born from the simple idea of “everything you need, nothing more,” the new Monster takes that spirit and injects it with the latest Ducati tech. There’s a brand-new 890cc V2 engine featuring Intake Variable Timing (IVT), kicking out 111bhp at 9,000rpm and 91Nm of torque — with more than 80% of that twist on tap from just 4,000rpm. It’s punchy, smooth and friendly enough to live with, while offering 45,000km valve check intervals that’ll please even the tightest wallet.

The chassis follows the same less-is-more mantra. A monocoque frame, Showa suspension and Brembo brakes headline a setup that drops 4kg over the outgoing model, bringing the Monster’s weight down to just 175kg (wet, no fuel). A new double-sided swingarm, 43mm upside-down forks, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres keep things tight, agile and confidence-inspiring… whether you’re threading through traffic or chasing apexes.

Visually, it’s every inch a Monster. Compact, muscular and dripping with naughtiness, the 2026 bike channels the DNA of the 1992 original – from the bison-back tank and short tail to the exposed motor that still forms the heart of its style. But it’s not all retro nods. There’s a 5-inch full-TFT dash, a new petal-style joystick controller, cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, and even turn-by-turn navigation.

Riders can toggle between four Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Urban and Wet), tailoring power and electronics at the press of a button. Seat height’s a manageable 815mm, and there are lower options for shorter riders. As ever, Ducati hasn’t forgotten the custom crowd – carbon bits, billet parts and even Termignoni titanium cans are all available to make your Monster sound and look even meaner.
Available in Ducati Red or Iceberg White, the Monster and Monster+ (with seat cowl and screen) hit UK dealerships in February 2026.
