BMW’s F 450 family is getting a sportier sibling, with the new F 450 RR bringing S 1000 RR-inspired styling, a 48hp parallel-twin and a claimed ready-to-ride weight of just 177kg to the A2 supersport class.

Powered by the 420cc parallel-twin first seen in the F 450 GS, the RR produces 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. Its 135-degree crankpin offset and balance shaft are designed to deliver characterful power with minimal vibration, while BMW claims 80% of maximum torque is available from just 3,000rpm. A six-speed gearbox comes as standard, with Shift Assistant Pro fitted to all but the base model, allowing clutchless up and downshifts.

The chassis gets a supersport-specific setup, built around a tubular steel space frame with the engine acting as a stressed member. A 43mm KYB upside-down fork and aluminium swingarm work alongside a KYB rear shock, while Sport suspension adds adjustable compression and rebound damping at the front. Braking comes courtesy of a 310mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston caliper, backed up by ABS Pro, traction control, engine drag torque control and three riding modes.

Styling takes clear inspiration from BMW’s larger RR models, complete with winglets, asymmetric bodywork and LED lighting. A 6.5-inch TFT display, heated grips and USB-C port are standard, too.

Four versions will be offered: Base (£6,730), Exclusive (£6,875), M Sport (£6,995) and M Sport ERC (£7,250). The latter adds BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch, which automatically operates the clutch according to engine speed, with the lever retained for manual input. The M Sport also brings Riding Modes Pro and Sport suspension, making it the most track-focused option in the range.

UK prices start at £6,730, rising to £7,250 for the range-topping M Sport with Easy Ride Clutch, with the new model expected to arrive in May 2027.
