1977 Honda CX500 Historic Vehicle Tax and MOT exempt.
Very good running original bike, if you like your old bikes looking their age it just needs a new set of tyres to get it back on the road or would make a great project for full restoration.
Fully Registered with DVLA. Age related plate issued, Tax and Mot exempt as its an Historic Vehicle.
Just had new fork seals and front brake rebuilt as it was sticking, Rides well , everything works , starts on the button, As I said needs a new set of tyres for the road as the tyres look like the original set from new, front has some cracking on the side wall and the back is very hard. There are signs of age, petrol tank paint has damage to paint work, most of the chrome work is pitted and seat cover has a small split at the rear.
A little history about the bike, it was a USA registered bike from the state of Missouri . last Missouri safety inspection was back in 1987. In 2010 it was imported into the UK by DK motorcycles, it then went into storage for another 10 years until being registered with the DVLA in July 2020. At the same time the engine and carbs where serviced and it now fires up and the engine runs very well. All electrics working, UK head light fitted.
Mileage – showing 1168 miles on the receipt from DK motorcycles and currently showing 1190 miles on the clock. You can tell from its overall condition it’s a low mileage bike, when the rocker covers where removed for the service it looked like new inside. Unfortunately, I cannot verify if the mileage is correct.
I have a video of the bike running I can send over, just email me, also happy to do a video call / walk round of the bike to show close ups of paint work etc
