The appointment with the spring auction of mopeds and motorcycles is scheduled for Monday, June 16 at Spazio Bolaffi in Turin with over 120 lots offering a varied and interesting vision of the world of collectible two-wheelers.
It begins with a selection of mopeds from the 40s to the 80s: noteworthy are a curious Bianchi Azalea (lot 9, starting bid Euro 450), a very rare three-wheeled vehicle for goods transport, the Alpino 48 S (lot 2 – starting bid 400) and a nice miniature Piaggio Ciao (lot 62 – starting bid 450).
The central point of the catalog, however, is a unique collection of Villa off-road motorcycles. The brand has always been synonymous with performance and refined technology combined with artisanal solutions. Examples are presented that were protagonists on the race tracks of Italy and Europe, ridden by champions such as Franco Picco: Villa Mx 360 (lot 77, starting bid Euro 2,800), Villa 480 cross (lot 78 – starting bid Euro 5,000) and two 250 cc. water and air cooled models stand out with their traditional bright orange livery.
Alongside these, we find two rare gems from the world of 70s off-road: the Honda CR 250 Elsinore (lot 20, starting bid Euro 5,000) and the Kawasaki KX 250 (lot 29, starting bid Euro 5,000). Never officially arrived in Europe, they represent the best in the field of sector collecting: these are motorcycles in extraordinary condition and of extreme rarity. Trial is present with Montesa, Bultaco, Ossa and Beta. A noteworthy unusual Villa 348 Trial (lot 79, starting bid Euro 2,000).
Among the classic Italian motorcycles, there are various Moto Guzzi, Parilla, Mondial, Gilera. To mention are the Rumi Junior Esportazione (lot 67, starting bid Euro 4,500) and Junior Gentleman (lot 68, starting bid 4,000).
Road motorcycles are represented by the sport tourers from the 2000s, the Honda Cbr 1100 XX (lot 23, starting bid Euro 2,200) and the highly sought-after Kawasaki H 1 500 Mach 3 500 three-cylinder (lot 28 – starting bid Euro 5,500). Also to be remembered are the characteristic Rumi Scoiattolo and Formichino scooters, today considered design objects.
The second part of the auction catalog is then dedicated to a selection of restoration projects. Several Mondial, Gilera, CM and particular motorcycles such as Dkw, Bsa and Villier are present.
