Ducati has given its iconic naked bike a darker edge with the new Monster Dark, an all-black take on the machine that helped define the modern streetfighter.
With its stealthy finish and stripped-back styling, the Dark puts the emphasis firmly on the Monster’s unmistakable shape, rather than shouting about it.

The familiar bison-inspired fuel tank, compact tail and single-piece seat remain central to the design, while black wheels and exposed structural elements add to the industrial, purposeful look. It’s a styling treatment that harks back to the original Monster Dark models, bringing a more understated attitude to Ducati’s latest generation of naked.

Beneath the blacked-out bodywork, the mechanical package remains unchanged. Ducati’s 1,157cc V2 engine produces 111bhp at 9,000rpm and 67.2lb-ft of torque at 7,250rpm, with more than 80% of peak torque available between 4,000 and 10,000rpm. Valve-clearance checks are required only every 45,000km.

An aluminium monocoque frame keeps claimed weight to 175kg, backed up by Showa suspension and Brembo brakes. Electronics include cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine-brake control, all managed through a six-axis IMU and four riding modes. A five-inch colour TFT dash and 815mm seat height complete the package, while an A2-restricted version will also be available.
