The world premiere of ‘On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter’ took place at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain, on September 26.

The film, produced by Red Bull Media House and partially funded by KTM, is an exploration into the pursuit of excitement, passion and life in the two-wheeled world of motorcycle riding, directed by Dana Brown – son of Bruce, the director of the original ‘On Any Sunday’ (1971) film.

The Next Chapter journeys deeper into the humanity and the excitement of motorcycle culture across its many disciplines: the passion for the race, the thrill of the ride, the love of family and friendship. The action and emotion are breathtaking, featuring phenomenal athletes such as Robbie Maddison, Marc Márquez, Dani Pedrosa and Travis Pastrana.

Last Friday, hundreds of bikers flocked to the Northern Spanish seaside town to join the moto convoy that would ride around San Seabstian to the film’s premiere at the Velodromo Antonio Elorza. Traffic stood still and people lined the streets as record-breaking stunt and freestyle rider and one of the stars of the film, Robbie Maddison, led the convoy on a 1190 Adventure with no less a pillion passenger than Bruce Brown. The film’s director, Dana Brown, followed on a 390 Duke along with producers Jonnie Broi and Ben Bryan on a 690 Duke R.

Despite its age, the original ‘On Any Sunday’ film is still regarded as the best motorcycle documentary film made and its impact was responsible for creating and inspiring many generations of motorcycle riders. When it heard about this new film that would celebrate many aspects of modern motorcycling and spread its affect to a wider audience, KTM was immediately interested in being involved and subsequently invested financially into making the movie a reality.

Director Dana Brown said: “Having KTM’s involvement with the film means a lot to me as it’s like an endorsement from the motorcycle community and from a quality brand. KTM’s interest is a sign to me that they think this movie is a positive thing for motorcycling and with Robbie (Maddison) being a KTM rider it’s like having the ‘Good Housekeeping’ seal of approval. Action movies like this don’t fit a genre, as such. So to have big companies like Red Bull Media House and KTM support us is a big deal. KTM’s involvement will help get the word out about the movie as obviously we want more people to see what we’ve made.”
