Get advanced motorcycle training for just £20!

SharpRider course dates have just been announced, offering riders a fantastic value opportunity to improve their riding.

The £20 courses are suitable for riders who have recently passed their test, are returning to riding after a break, upgrading to a more powerful machine, or just want to check their riding standards. The training includes both theory and practical sessions, from basic road craft to an assessed ride-out with a professional qualified post test trainer

Riders receive a DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency) certificate, and may get up to 15% off their insurance.

All the trainers are tested and accredited by the DSA and are on the national register. They are also re-assessed every 4 years to maintain standards, with many having been coaching riders at all levels for many years, providing a wealth of experience. The instructors do not tell you how to rid,e but instead suggest ways in which your riding might be improved. It’s your choice. 

The informal course provides on-road training and a riding assessment on a second day, which is arranged for a later date. Riders will receive a formal Rider Appraisal and a DSA Certificate of Riding Competence. The course is partly classroom training and includes basic machine maintenance and pre-ride checks; everything you need to know about riding a motorcycle on the road.

This advanced motorcycling scheme is organised and promoted by Advanced Rider Coaching, which also provides RoSPA advanced training and runs the British Superbike Schools to provide on-track handling training for road riders.

Support from local road safety partnerships reduces two days of training to just £20. Without these supplements, a single day would usually cost £180!
