The Italian factory has revealed the latest version of iconic Ducati Monster for 2021 – and we’ve got our hands on the prices.
The recipe hasn’t dramatically changed since the first Monster was released way back in 1993; a sporty engine and a Superbike-derived frame. After all, what more do you need?

The latest version will be powered by Ducati’s Testastretta 11° 937 cc twin cylinder L-shaped engine with Desmodromic Distribution. It’s a jump up from the 821cc motor – meaning there’s an increase in displacement, power and torque. It now kicks out 111hp at 9,250 rpm with maximum torque of 9.5 Nm delivered at just 6,500 rpm.
Ducati’s also worked hard to reduce weight – redesigning the chassis, accessory elements and superstructures to create a compact and lightweight bike that weighs in at 166 kg. That’s an impressive 18 kg lighter than the Monster 821.
What else is different? Well the standard 820mm seat height can be reduced to 800mm with an aftermarket unit. And it can dropped even further down to 775mm with addition of some new suspension springs. Clever.
One of the biggest changes is the increase in steering angle… It’s been increased to 36° (+7° when compared to the 821) to help offer better agility at low speeds. The handlebar has been brought closer to the rider and the pegs have been moved too – which should help offer a more comfortable and spacious riding position.
As you’d expect, it’s kitted out with some top level technology. It gets ABS Cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, which all adjustable to different levels of intervention. There’s also a Launch Control feature for lightning-fast starts. There’s three Riding Modes too (Sport, Urban, Touring) – and to see what’s happening with the tech, there’s 4.3″ colour TFT dashboard on hand.
The Monster will be available in Ducati dealerships starting from April 2021 in Ducati Red and Dark Stealth with black wheels (£10,295) and Aviator Grey with GP Red wheels (10,495) in the standard version – and in the same colour schemes but with an aerodynamic windshield and a cover for the passenger seat in the Plus version (£10,545/£10,745). There’s also a 35-kW version, suitable for A2 license holders.
