Yamaha sources have spoken to us to tell us that the MT-07 Tracer, the model that is the smaller sibling of the sales-success MT-09 Tracer, will now NOT be part of the Japanese firm’s 2016 line-up.
None of what we’ve been told is on the record, but the information is that because Yamaha is at capacity with its MT-07 engine – and all of those units have been earmarked for the XSR700 custom cafe style bike (pictured below) – the already-in-testing MT-07 Tracer will have to wait to be launched.
That means that the upright, faired roadster has now been shifted to the following year’s line-up.
Boo. But understandable, if what we’ve been told is true.
