News is doing the rounds in Indonesia and elsewhere amongst asian markets this morning that Suzuki’s GSX-R250 will now be launched in India in February.

The small sportster was widely expected to be launched at the recent Tokyo and Milan motorcycle shows. According to the inside information from the emerging markets the bike is now likely to launched in 2017 proper.

The name is currently being debated between Gixxer 250 and GSX-R250. It’s unsure what the model will end up with but given that the Indian market has already had Gixxer 155 (also referred to as the GSX-R150 AND Gixxer SF) it’s not going to seem out of place if the new bike gets the full GSX-R nametag.

The bike is expected to come in at 250cc and make 30bhp. It will have a full fairing and ABS brakes as standard.
