Meet the HARLEY-DAVIDSON Adventure bike! Yeah!

This is the big surprise of the Bangkok Motor Show – with awesome coverage by the chaps at the Rushlane website – and it’s is happening right now, it’s a 2016 Street 750 Harley-Davidson that’s been converted into an Adventure bike. And although the official word is that this is a one-off designed and put together by a dealer, you’ve got to admit that it looks pretty much finished and ready to rock.

The man behind the project is Richy Wilson, Harley-Davidson dealer in Thailand. He’s called the bike the Street 750 Stealth Adventure Concept and whilst it’s not exactly stealthy, it is a very well done idea.

The bodywork is custom-made, the bike gets a matt grey colour scheme, suspension is pukka Ohlins motocross kit and the rear switches from twin to single shock. The front wheel goes up to a more Adventure-style 21 inch and the rear is a 18 inch version, there’s Dunlop knobblies front and back and the handlebars are motocross wide bars.

The handmade aluminium petrol tank gets a centre-mounted filler cap instead of the off-centre one used on the stock Street 750 and the mudguards and swingarm are made from aluminium along with the three handmade luggage panniers.

The new headlights are LED daymakers wrapped in a protective grille and the new custom-made exhaust exits under the pillion seat.

The bike’s motor is the stock 750 Street unit.

Let’s call it as we see it, this might be being put out there as a ‘dealer special’ but this looks waaaaay too finished and well thought through for that. There’s some serious money been ploughed into this bike… anyone else fancy that what we’re seeing here is a serious dip-toe-in-the-water for H-D to just gauge public reaction before going any further? It’s a possibility.
