Mike Abbott of the British Superbike School said: “The first time you get out on track is, for most, an unforgettable and overwhelming experience, and incredible sense of freedom with no speed cameras in sight! We aim to make everything we do as safe as possible, while ensuring it’s plenty of fun.

“We have a maximum of 12 riders on the track which has tarmac run-off, not gravel traps, and no Armco where you are likely to run off.

“We separate road and track riders, too. Road is mainly cornering training delivered by police, RoSPA and DVSA post-test trainers in a safer environment than public roads. Our ‘track’ sessions are now run to ACU guidelines and we have six ACU coaches on the books. I believe the depth of qualified instructors we have is quite unique.

“We get a wide spectrum of machines, ages, experience and speed, and we endeavour to match riders in groups of similar abilities. We have a reputation of delivering friendly professional low-stress training days and you can go as fast as you want; it’s not about following an instructor around all day.”
