The British Motorcycle Federation (BMF), has joined forces with Aero Legends, Bikesure and WWII Headcorn Aerodrome to launch a thrilling new weekend event, ‘Merlins and Motorbikes’. Enthusiasts can expect an action packed experience at ‘Merlins and Motorbikes’, which is being held on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2016 at the Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent.

With live music including “Band of Gypsys”, trade stalls selling everything from bike kit and helmets to clothing and sunglasses, plus bike jumble where visitors can pick up second hand parts. Family entertainment includes; bouncy castle, soft play centre and funfair. Burgers, hog roast, (vegetarian option) fish and chips all on offer to keep everyone fuelled and raring to go.

As well as a ‘best in show’ competition and several exhibitions available to experience, Laguna Motorcycles Maidstone bring in the big guns with the Ducati Roadshow 2016. Running  alongside, Headcorn welcomes the KCC Road Safety Unit, KENT FIRE BIKE, BIKER DOWN, SERV and the Kent Advanced Motorcyclist Group.

Devon & Spit

Taking centre stage at ‘Merlins and Motorbikes’ will be an aerial display from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) in two Spitfires and the ‘Great British Bike Off’, a 1,200-metre drag race between a Vincent Black Shadow and the Aero Legends Spitfire TD314 MK IX plus the chance to meet Special guest Tom Ward from BSB Superstock 600.

Jim Freeman, Chairman of the BMF, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Aero Legends and WWII Headcorn Aerodrome to launch this exciting debut event, which is set to attract thousands of visitors over the weekend. The mix of classic motorcycles and vintage aircraft, combined with numerous other attractions, makes this a special event in the calendar. What could be more evocative than the lazy, effortless, thunder of a Merlin engine Spitfire over Kent?”

Both weekend camping and day tickets are available to buy from www.headcornevents.co.uk with discounts available for BMF members and affiliates and seniors.
