MotoGP test in Austria: Ducati strongest so far – Dovi, Iannone, Stoner top three at the moment, Rossi sixth

The first day of testing at the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the MotoGP masses has proved the Ducati point we raised this morning when we brought you what Danilo Petrucci said about Casey Stoner.

You remember that, right? How it was that Stoner wants to race at the MotoGP round at the track in just under a month’s time? Yeah? Cool.

And so far, it all looks like being a Ducati-fest at the tricky track. Here’s how the time-sheets looked an hour ago:

Since then the times have shifted around a bit with Andrea Dovizioso staying at the top but teammate Andrea Iannone leap-frogging Stoner into second.

Maverick Vinales has so far gone fourth quickest with Jorge Lorenzo fifth, one place ahead of Valentino Rossi.

Petrucci was seventh quickest followed by Scott Redding. Eugene Laverty is 10th quickest and Cal Crutchlow at the moment sits 14th at this point of the two-day-long test.
