That’s 11,280 bikes.

The first issue to need attention is the bike’s oil pump which might not be able to regulate oil pressure.

The second issue is for the R3’s clutch pressure plate bearing which a report from the NHTSA agency says could break due to an insufficient load rating.

Yamaha says that it will contact all owners affected by the notification and that Yamaha dealers will sort the problem out, free of charge. The NHTSA says that the process has already begun.

If you’re in the States and want to check out if you’re effected by the recall (if you’ve bought an R3, then you are) you can call Yamaha’s customer service directly on: 1-800-962-7962. The number for the recall that you will need to give is 990105.
