British armed cops on motorbikes to take on terrorists!

Police chiefs have revealed that armed British officers will use motorcycles to race across London if the capital is attacked by terrorists.

The addition of the motorcycling officers has been announced today as more armed officers are deployed across London.

The move has come in response to the recent spate of incidents across Europe.

Officers have already been trained on how to ride the BMW 800 GS bikes off-road should they need to get across areas of London that would otherwise be blocked off because of traffic.

One of the elite counter-terrorism unit’s officers told Sky News: “Traffic can be gridlocked at the best of times – certainly in the times of an attack.

“If you look at Europe, at Paris and Belgium, traffic becomes a major impingement on a rapid response.

“We’ve looked at tactics and pillion riding with motorcycles gives us a very fast and effective response. The guys practice riding off road so they can bump up and down across pavements and make really good progress from A to B.”
