It’s not the most earth-shattering news in the motorcycle world, but that doesn’t mean that Honda won’t sell a shedload of these bikes.

This is the new 2017 Honda Rebel. It’s an A2 licence-friendly 471cc 500cc parallel-twin that can kick out 44bhp @ 8,500rpm and 33lbft of torque @ 6,000rpm. Honda says the bike has strong low-down torque, is slim and has a low seat height too which makes it easy to paddle about on.

The Rebel’s tubular steel frame is all-new and the bike comes with the fat tyred ‘bobber’ look capped off with a healthy dose of black-out parts and styling to match. Wet, the bike weighs in at 190kg.

The bike gets a ‘one-button’ speedo which is a compact 100mm dial with an LCD display and blue backlight. The Rebel 500 comes in black, silver metallic or red.

The pillion pad and rear footpegs are easily removed and after-market parts like a rear luggage rack, screen and 12V socket are available directly from Honda. No price yet on this bike, we will let you know when it’s announced by Honda.
