Winter tyres for motorcycles – really?

We might be heading towards the warmer months, but this story from Canada about winter tyres for motorcycles caught our eye this morning.

The tyres themselves are Turkish, made by company called Anlas, and they look purposeful, even if we can’t comment on how they work (if we get some to test we’ll let you know).

There are two options available: The Anlas Winter Grip Plus in 19” and 17” sizes for the front and 17” for the back. It has an aggressive tread pattern and ice-gripping sipes, and could be an interesting choice for a big adventure bike.

The Anlas Winter Grip 2 looks even more like a traditional car winter tyre, with wet-weather sipes and heavily grooved surface. There’s no information on the sizing on the Turkish website.
