Ian Hutchinson has come away with first place from today’s TT Superstock race, astride his Tyco BMW S1000RR.
Hutchy dominated the four lap race from the off, commanding a strong lead throughout – and the Yorkshireman finished 22.4 seconds ahead of second place Peter Hickman, and over 40 seconds infront of Dan Kneen, who finished third.
Today’s Superstock win sees Ian Hutchinson move ahead of Mike Hailwood in the all-time TT standings, with a total of 16 TT wins to his name – and there’s still time for him to bag a couple more wins this week. It also sees the Bingley Bullet move ahead of Bruce Anstley as the most successful Superstock TT racer to date, with a total of 5 wins to his name – three of which have come consecutively over the last three years.
After yesterday’s awful conditions, a break in the bad weather has allowed racing to get back underway on the island. Although the sun is shining bright, heavy winds are still battering the mountain course, with strong crosswinds at Crosby a cause for concern.
Next up on the race schedule for this afternoon is the Lightweight TT, which kicks off at 13.45pm – and it’ll be followed by the Zero TT electric race at 16.25.
