Three times World Superbike Champion, Troy Bayliss is set to return to competitive racing after three years away from the action. The 48 year old Australian rider will be competing in the Australian Superbike Championship riding a Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition for the DesmoSport Ducati Team.

Speaking to Australian press, Bayliss said: “After riding with the bike I felt I needed to take part in the championship and try to win the elusive title of the Australian Superbike. I definitely feel that I have pending issues … I have some work ahead to be in shape, but after trying the bike and running at the Festival of Adelaide Motorsports, I feel that I am up to it ” .

Bayliss will contest all seven rounds of the 2018 ASBK championship, which kicks off alongside the opening round of the Superbike World Championship at Philip Island at the end of February.
