KTM has released a brilliant video, showing how its ABS and MSC technology works to assist and keep you safe out on the open road. The video takes three different scenarios to show the handling of motorcycles with and without ABS in place.
KTM is renowned for producing motorcycles that are packed with cutting-edge technology, walking the tightrope between top levels of performance and handling, while offering riders optimum control of their bikes without taking away the simple joy of riding.
Of course, there are still plenty of purists out there who believe that electronic assistance is taking something away from the riding experience – but there’s no denying that KTM’s cutting-edge tech does its bit to keep you safe out on the open road.
KTM Cornering Anti-lock Braking System (KTM Cornering ABS)
An anti-lock braking system or anti-skid braking system (ABS) allows the wheels on a motorcycle to maintain tractive contact with the road surface, preventing the wheels from locking up and helping to avoid uncontrolled skidding.
The KTM ABS, also works to allow the rider to stop in a controlled manner, while maintaining the right direction of travel with cornering-ABS. The Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) module takes in inputs from the lean angle, pitch axis, roll rate, accelerometers and much more at the rate of one hundred times a second to give the rider the best braking performance in any riding situation.
