We’ve just been sent some snaps of an awesome custom Honda Monkey built by SP Takekawa in Japan – and it’s fitted with a performance tuned 181cc engine.
In essence, the Honda Grom and Monkey 125 share a number of parts – including its engine. And so, SP Takekawa has been able to handpick its favourite parts and accessories from the extensive range of aftermarket products to add a bit of aggression to the all-new Monkey.
First off, the little Monkey’s displacement has been pushed up to 181cc, using a 4-valve super head and R booster kit – and is complimented by a big throttle body kit, 4-fin oil cooler kit, injection controller, special clutch kit and updated muffler. Awesome.

No news yet about when it’ll be making it to market, or how much it’ll set you back – but if you’re after a new Honda Monkey when they hit UK shores this Summer, and you’re looking to upgrade, you could do far worse than this kit from SP Takekawa.
