It’s not a cheap helmet by any stretch of the imagination, but if you’re a Freddie Spencer fan then you’ve now got two 40 year anniversary modern replicas from Arai to choose from.

The top-of-the-line RX-7V comes in two colours, the famous red, white and blue that was synonymous with Spencer throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s (the colours aped the Hondas he was riding), but for die-hard Spencer fans it’s the other colour scheme that is most interesting.

Arai has also released the helmet in a much more subtle blue and silver scheme which was first seen in 1978 when Spencer contested the 250cc American championship. The silver and blue Arai found fame with the American on a global scale when Spencer came to the UK to contest the Transatlantic Trophy rounds on a Yamaha 750.

The RX-7V costs £789.99 for either colourscheme and comes in sizes: XS:53-54CM S:55-56CM M:57-58CM L:59CM XL:60-61CM.
