MotoGP: Marquez WILL NEVER ride for Yamaha (or so he says).

Four-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has admitted he doesn’t have many friends within the Yamaha MotoGP team. While being interviewed on Italian television, the Repsol Honda rider suggested that it’s not just Valentino Rossi who’s not a fan – but also Yamaha’s Race Boss, Lin Jarvis.

With his fifth MotoGP World Championship on the way and his understanding of the Repsol Honda better than ever – it’s unlikely that Marquez is any rush to transfer to another team. But according to an interview on Italian television, he reckons his options are fairly limited after he was vetoed by Yamaha back in 2016. In the interview on Sky Italy during the British GP at Silverstone, Marquez said: “Lin Jarvis has said that he is not going to see a Marquez on Yamaha and he had already told me personally in 2016. I respect and accept him.”

Of course, it’s not just Jarvis – Marquez’s relationship Yamaha’s main man Valentino Rossi has been continuously fraught since the Spaniard first proved himself on the world scale. And considering Rossi’s future commitment to Yamaha, including his VR46 Moto2 and Moto3 teams, it seems fairly obvious why Marquez is convinced he’s not likely to get an offer from Yamaha anytime soon.
