Steve McQueen’s 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross (the ‘On Any Sunday’ bike) going on sale in three days!

Yep, we’re in love with this.

It’s the actual small cc dirt bike, the real one that Steve McQueen owned and rode in the seminal motorcycle movie ‘On Any Sunday’. An icon of two wheels, if you will.

Anyway, the bike is a 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross and is going on sale with Bonhams at the Barber Motorsports Museum in the USA on October 6.

The projected price for the bike, which comes with full paperwork to show that this one , MH-141 was indeed one of five Husky 400s owned by McQueen, is from £58,000 to £77,000.

The papers also show that this particular motorcycle is the ‘Beach Bike’ from the film where McQueen rode the 400 alongside motorcycle legend Mert Lawwill who was on a Greeves. So there’s a very good chance that this is the bike that McQueen was riding for this classic Sports Illustrated cover from August 1971.
