To celebrate 60 years of racing success, iconic Italian bike builder Paton has just unveiled a road-going version of its race winning Paton S1-R.
Essentially, it’s a road-legal replica of the Paton S1-R Lightweight race bike – inspired by the TT winning machine of Michael Dunlop. And honestly, it looks the business.
Delving deeper into what makes the S1-R tick, it shares a surprising amount with its race ready sibling – coming with a 650cc twin powerplant (originally pulled from the Kawasaki ER6), which kicks out 72hp and 64 Nm of torque. Performance wise, the bike should be capable of getting up to 100kmh in 3.9 seconds – before it runs out of steam at around 250 kmh.
It weighs in at 158kg, and comes with a 16 litre fuel tank. It’s also fitted with a titanium exhaust system from SC Project., Öhlins springs at the front and rear which offer 120 mm travel and Brembo brakes – so it’s a well-equipped machine. But you’d want it to be, with a price tag of 29,000 euros (plus tax) – which works out at just shy of £26,000.
