FORMER motorcycle racer and current TV personality Guy Martin appeared at Lincoln Crown Court today (Monday, December 17) to deny charges relating to having a fake Irish driving licence.
Martin, 37, of Searby Top, Barnetby, Lincolnshire, pleaded not guilty to two charges. He is charged with possession of a driving licence with intent to deceive and making a false statement by claiming he had an Irish licence.
During the brief hearing, Martin confirmed his date of birth, nationality and entered his not guilty plea. Judge Andrew Easteal granted unconditional bail ahead of a trial to begin on July 1, 2019.

Martin denied possession of a document with ‘intent to deceive’ between December 4 and May 15 this year. The court heard that the matter related to “a document so closely resembling an Irish driving licence as to be calculated to deceive”.
He also denied making a false statement between March 1 and May 15 this year in which he claimed that he was the holder of an Irish driving licence.
