Banish your post-Christmas blues at the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic, on January 5-6 at Newark Showground.
World Championship-winning American racing legend Freddie Spencer will be making his first appearance at the show, sharing stories from his hugely successful race career. Interviewed on stage by local TT hero Steve Plater, there’s sure to be bucket loads of banter, stories and photo opportunities for fans all weekend.
A brand-new feature to the show, Moto Gymkhana UK will be on hand, offering free sessions for visitors on both Saturday and Sunday of the show, providing that they bring their own riding gear and licence. Matt Hull, editor of the show’s magazine sponsor Classic Bike Guide, said about Moto Gymkhana: “It’s the most exciting, safe sport you can do on a motorcycle that teaches you more about bike control than years of road riding.”
The sessions are 30 minutes long and can accommodate three riders each time, giving 48 people an opportunity to take part across the weekend. Participants can either book a slot in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or book when they arrive at the show.
It’s not just about motorcycles either! The Winter Classic is the only event where classic scooters and motorcycles share equal billing – and the Scooter World halls, packed with innovative and skilfully restored small wheeled wonders, are not to be missed.
With trade and autojumble pitches, and the usual sparkling array of club stands and private entries all vying for the prizes on offer, it’s sure to a great weekend of all things two-wheeled. For more information, and to buy advance tickets, go to www.newarkclassicbikeshow.com
