Imagine finding eleven brand new, boxed up Norton Commando 850’s from 1975 (and a brand new Matchless G80 from 1989) in a dusty corner of a workshop. Well that’s what’s happened in Aalst in Belgium, after the owner of MotoshopPodevyn passed away.

The owner of the workshop was a passionate motorcycle collector, with over 100 bikes to his name – but it seems like very few people knew exactly what he had hidden away, because his heirs recently discovered 12 brand new boxed up machines from over 40 years ago. Sadly, his heirs weren’t quite so enthusiastic about the bikes, selling them off for between 18,000 and 20,000 euros each – while the Matchless fetched 10,500 euros.

Who knows what rare machinery could be hidden away just waiting to be unearthed and put back on the road. All we know is that we’ll be keeping a much closer eye out to see if we can spot any gems hidden away from now on.
