te_5The annual Touratech Travel Event held at Touratech UK HQ in Ystradgynlais, South Wales attracts hundreds of adventure motorcycle enthusiasts to the area from all over Europe – this year’s event will be FREE TO ATTEND with the aim of attracting a wider range of motorcycle fans in order to inform them of the equipment, considerations and preparations that need to be made when undertaking an extensive trip (be it on a national or global scale). The event is comprised of adventure related talks and workshops, off-road and on-road ride outs (including the famous Walters Arena booked for riding on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May), food and drink, trade stands and a chance to mingle with adventure motorcycling celebrities in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Those turning up early on Friday 2nd May will be able to pitch their tents within the woodland area (located on the same estate as the Touratech UK HQ), plus the opportunity to settle down with some beer and good food whilst enjoying the showing of a Friday night film.

te_3On Saturday 3rd May everyone attending the Travel Event and all riders wishing to attend the FREE off-road riding at Walters Arena must report to Touratech UK HQ from 9am and sign on/collect a Touratech wristband – signing on will be run all day Saturday and Sunday until 5pm. Touratech UK MD Nick Plumb will be at the arena at 1pm and 4pm riding the new BMW R1200 GS Watercooled to take the more experienced off-road riders on a more advanced route, whilst less experienced riders will be guided around the arena every half an hour. Guided road-rideouts will start at 10am on Saturday and will last for approximately 3 hours, a shorter one and a half hour ride-out can also be completed but riders will be presented with a route map that they can ride themselves either as individuals or in groups.

The timings and ride-out schedule will be mirrored on the Sunday. An additional treasure hunt will take place on Sunday 4th May starting at Touratech HQ – participants will be handed a route map to follow and must collect hidden items along the way – a great way to experience the outstanding views whilst having some riding fun!
