VIDEO: WATCH (and listen) to BMW’s Concept R18 in ACTION.

BMW has finally offered us a proper look at its Concept R18, releasing a short film which shows the new 1800cc cruiser in action.

Widely tipped to unveil a new cruiser at the big bike shows towards the end of the year, BMW has whet our appetites for what might be coming with the release of a video showing its Concept R18 in action.

Taking obvious inspiration from BMW’s original cruiser – the R5 – which was first released in 1936, the R18 is powered by a new 1,800 cc air/oil cooled boxer engine which sits in cradle frame, and comes with a black painted drop tank, 21″ and 18″ spoke wheels and a shaft drive.

But whether or not BMW actually releases the R18 is another question altogether. Spy shots which emerged last month suggest that BMW’s resurgence in the cruiser sector will be slightly more conventional than the classic-styled R18 – but thankfully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out for sure, with rumours suggesting we’ll get our first look a BMW’s newest creation at EICMA this November.
