Tito Rabat is staying in the premier league class until the end of 2021. The news puts to bed paddock rumours that the Spaniard was about to jump ship and land a World Superbike deal with Honda. Rabat has signed the 24 month tie-in with the Reale Avintia Racing squad, owned by Raul Romero.

Following his serious accident during the British Grand Prix last season, the 2014 Moto2 World Champion struggled in a difficult first part of the championship but over the last two races, the Ducati rider began to regain composure on the bike – but his results remain less than stellar with him finishing ninth in Catalunya and being ‘close to the top 10’ last time out in Germany.

Rabat is currently in 19th place in the overall MotoGP standings with 14 points, 171 points behind leader Marc Marquez on 185.
