It is 25 years since the Ducati 916 arrived on the global stage, changing the superbike world forever and immediately becoming a modern motorcycle icon.
Ever since its debut, the Ducati 916 has been beloved by motorcycling fans throughout the world, becoming an instant classic due to its Italian-style, dynamic and lightweight design that was so innovative back in 1994.
The Ducati 916 and the subsequent 996 and 998 versions were produced until 2004, with a total of over 45,000 bikes rolling off the production line. The Ducati 916 wasn’t just a great bike and an enormous sales success, it was also dominant on the racetrack. In the World Superbike championship, the 916 SBK won 120 races, eight constructors’ titles and six riders’ titles, four of them with Carl Fogarty on the Ducati 916 SBK and 996 SBK.
To mark this milestone, Ducati UK is inviting all Ducati 916 owners to be involved in a dedicated 916 display at Motorcycle Live from 16-24 November. Ducati is looking for 12 of the finest examples of the 916 including 996 and 998 models to display on a dedicated stand to honour this historic and ground-breaking motorcycle.
Those 916,996 and 998 owners would like their bike to be considered, should visit https://www.ducatiukevents.co.uk/916mcnshow.htm and fill out the provided form. There is an image upload box that will allow for five images of your bike, no larger than 10MB in total.
Those selected will be supplied with a pair of tickets to Motorcycle Live, a pair of tickets for the Ducati VIP evening, a unique bike specification print for your motorcycle and a limited edition 916 gift.
Ducati UK is also looking for the public’s Ducati 916 memories, a collage of 916 photos will accompany the motorcycle display on the stand. This can be done by sharing the photo on the web site https://www.ducatiukevents.co.uk/916memories.htm. Send in your photos of 916 moments, your bike, or memories the 916 has made for you. Those who have a photo chosen will be emailed and if they visit the Motorcycle Live show with their email they can collect a 916 gift from the Ducati 916 stand and sign their photo on the wall.
Motorcycle Live takes place from the 16th -24th November at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. For show information visit: https://www.motorcyclelive.co.uk/.
