SHARK-sponsored rider Scott Redding celebrated a title victory at the final round of the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch circuit on Sunday, crowning him the 2019 British Champion. His long-term sponsor, SHARK Helmets, prepared a one-off custom helmet to mark the occasion.

Fresh from his double victory at the penultimate round at Donington Park, Redding entered the concluding round with a 28-point lead over Be Wiser Ducati teammate Josh Brookes, ready to battle for the championship title in the final three races at the British Superbike Showdown – and he didn’t disappoint. Claiming two thirds and a second place in the final three races, Redding successfully secured enough points in the Showdown to win the title, five points ahead of teammate Josh Brookes.

Proud sponsors of the newly crowned British Superbike Champion, SHARK Helmets unveiled a one-off, special helmet design of its iconic racing model, the Race-R PRO GP – the same helmet worn by Redding throughout his triumphant season.

On display during Redding’s winning moment at the weekend, the gold and black Race-R Pro GP helmet design displayed the Union Jack to celebrate the British title, as well as a nod towards SHARK Helmets long-standing relationship with the champion.

Redding’s winning helmet design highlights two important moments – both for Scott and SHARK Helmets. The French brand celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and is proud to have supported Redding since the very beginning of his racing career, paying tribute to the rider’s record-breaking Grand Prix win when he became the youngest ever rider to win at the age of 15. Both significant events adding up to equal Scott’s racing number, #45.

The special helmet will be showcased to the public at Motorcycle Live on the SHARK Helmets stand between 16-24 November – Hall 3A Stand 3C15.
