Honda’s Ricky Brabec has triumphed at the 2020 Dakar Rally, taking the title for the Japanese factory for the first time since 1989.

Honda WINS the Dakar Rally for the first time since 1989 with Ricky Brabec ending KTM’s 18 year winning streak.

After 18 years of KTM dominance, Honda’s taken the top spot at this year’s Dakar Rally – and Brabec has become the first American to ever win the race.

Speaking about the win Brabec said: “At the end, we put the pieces to the puzzle together. We couldn’t do it without every rider in the team. I’m really happy. It’s my fifth Dakar, my second time finishing… I woke up this morning just happy to ride the last day. And we’re here. We won! We had to be smart and focused every day. There’s no top guy on the team, we all work together, we’re a family. We all won.”
