Honda’s CT 125 is coming to Europe. Factory files designs with EU patent office.

Honda’s filed a batch of design drawings with the European Patent Office which confirms the upcoming release of its newest Cub Trail 125.

Following the big reveal of Honda’s latest generation CT 125 at the Tokyo Motor Show a few months ago, we’ve been eagerly waiting for news from the Japanese factory that we’re going to see the latest generation of its off-road ready Super Cub on British shores. And it looks like it’s going to happen – with Motorrad magazine in Germany getting its hands on a series of design drawings which have been filed with the European Patent Office.

Based around the newly released Honda Super Cub 125, the CT gets off-road rubber on wire spoked rims, an upswept exhaust with a heat shield, a luggage rack, engine protection, a small bash plate, telescopic forks and a rear disc brake.

The Trail Cub’s gained a cult following over the last 60 years – and we’re confident that if Honda get it right, the new one will be very well received. No official news on when it’ll be available – but we’re expecting it to be on display at the big bike shows in Europe towards the end of the year in time for an early 2021 release. The new Super Cub C125 costs £3399, so we reckon it’ll come in somewhere around there.
