Designs filed by Honda suggest that the Japanese factory is working on a scaled down version of its Monkey 125.
Released back in 2018, Honda’s modern-day Monkey has captured the hearts and minds of little bike lovers the world over since its introduction to the market – and now, it looks like the factory is taking things one step further, having filed patents for an even smaller machine.
The good folks at Soymotero have done a bit of graphic wizardry to help comparisons between the current machine and the bike that’s in the works. It very clearly shows just how much smaller the new bike is when compared to the already very slight Monkey 125. It’s quite an achievement to have scaled things down even further. To make it possible there’s some clever stuff going on with the frame.
At this stage, we’ve heard no official word from Honda about the mini-Monkey. Chances are it’s being created with the Asian market in mind, particularly considering the success of its MSX 125 over the years – but we’re keeping our fingers crossed it also makes it over to the UK and Europe in the not too distant future.
