A spy shot captured in China confirms that Aprilia is getting ready to launch its new Terra 250.

Building on the success of its Terra 150 in Asia, Aprilia’s preparing to launch a 250cc version of its dual-sport machine – and a spy shot has emerged on www.newmotor.com.cn which shows the bike in nearly finished form.
Rumoured to be powered by the same 249.2cc single cylinder motor as the Italian factories GPR 250, the Terra 250 should kick out 26hp at 9,000 rpm, and peak torque of 22Nm at 7,500 rpm. Not bad. Elsewhere, expect to find long travel suspension, 18 inch front and 17 inch rear spoked wheels clad with knobbly tyres, disc brakes and an upswept exhaust.
There are also rumours that alongside the standard Terra 250 captured in the image, Aprilia’s working on a more hardcore ‘adventure’ version with even more serious suspension and a 21 inch front wheel.

Ok, so the real question is whether we’re going to see this bike in the UK and Europe. To be honest, it’s unlikely. The Terra 150 was released exclusively in Asia, and the 250 version will probably follow in its footsteps.
