Motorcycle training and testing will restart in England from July 4.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has just announced motorcycle training will resume next month.
CBT, Direct Access training and Theory tests will all be restarting on July 4 – before Module 1 and Module 2 testing gets back underway just over a week later on July 13.
At this stage, tests are still suspended in Scotland and Wales, in line with guidance from the devolved administrations – while Northern Ireland has released its own set of dates.
The DVSA will be making announcements in the coming days, publishing information on how it plans to restart training and testing safely. Whatever the restrictions, it’s great to hear training and testing can restart. Hopefully the industry can make the most of increased demand from new riders seeking to avoid public transport.
Speaking about the news, Gareth Llewellyn, DVSA Chief Executive, said: “It has been vital that lessons and tests only resume when safe to do so and in line with the government’s advice. We know this has been a tough time for the whole country including learners and driving instructors but I am pleased to announce the restart of lessons and tests in England.”
