Tales of racing, spannering and a dog with Agostini and George

Competition winners Diane Wright and Steven Kirk today enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime lunch at the Carole Nash Great Scottish Bike Show.

The lucky pair shared wine with multiple world champion and motorcycle legend Giacomo Agostini, along with three-time TT and GP road racer Alex George at the Royal Highland Centre in Islington.

Alex and Giacomo remembered the days of camaraderie, late nights working on their bikes, and even the times the Scottish Isle of Man TT winner’s dog – Reina – would disappear from his pit tent. Alex recalled that they knew this meant Ago and the MV team had arrived with their pots of salami and spaghetti.

There’s still time to catch the race legends on stage as the show runs from the 9th to the 10th August, with hundreds of bikes on display, autojumble, incredible shows from the Purpe Helmets and much more. You can also grab a chance to ride one of Yamaha’s stunning new range with the Japanese company’s MT tour.
