Mean and Moody: new black-on-black livery for the Panigale V2

If you want a sportsbike that is road-ready and capable of MotoGP-style handling on the track, the Ducati Panigale V2 should appear on your shortlist.

Built with a chassis adapted from its sibling, the Panigale V4, the smaller V-twin may not provide as much power, but is agile and braking performance is outstanding.

Ducati has unveiled a new colour option for their bike, a dark, stealthy black joining the classic Ducati Red as a choice for riders.

The mean new look is a combination of dark matt grey and glossy black elements, finished with the Panigale V2 logo and red details on the tank, fairings and wheels. A saddle with new graphics and materials has been added to make it complete.

Beneath the surface, the new motorcycle is just as technical, with a 955 cc Euro 5-certified Superquadro two-cylinder engine. While it produces a very reasonable 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and 104 Nm (76.7 lb-ft) of torque at 9,000 rpm, in comparison to numerous high-powered sports bikes with over 200 bhp that barely allow any useable power on the roads, this Panigale is an appealing and accessible choice for those prioritizing street riding.

The Panigale V2 Bayliss edition is also on the way, joining the red and black models.
