The DOHC parallel twin sportsbike reaches the class maximum 47bhp and was seen out in testing in July alongside the Moto Guzzi Stelvio adventure bike, which is making a comeback.

The 457 now makes it to production form and its styling is similar to the RS 660 which was unveiled in 2020 – with the motor integrated into an aluminium alloy frame.

The 457 boasts an impressive liquid-cooled engine with a two-into-one exhaust and an underslung exit. Aprilia claims that at 175kg wet, it has the highest power-to-weight ratio of its peers and is empowered by ride-by-wire throttle, as well as switchable traction control and three ride modes.

The controls are situated behind back-lit switches, adding a touch of sophistication with its five-inch TFT display. The nose features LED lighting, and the shortened rear section has evidently been taken from the 660, being fitted with a light.

Elsewhere, the front part and side profile take their cues from the bigger road bike alongside the manufacturer’s championship-winning MotoGP racers.

It is not a precise sports bike since the ergonomics are made for daily use with low foot pegs and handlebars set at a gentle angle.

The 320mm single-disc front brake is teamed up with a four-piston ByBre radial caliper, which helps separate it from the 660’s twin rotors.
